Happily Ever After

My happily ever after.

Is this what you want? It is for most people. Yet so many spend their entire lives searching, only to come up empty. Even when the young bride marries her long-time love, she sometimes wonders, “Is this it?!?” As long as we search for happiness and fulfillment in another person, instead of resting in God, we will always be unsatisfied. We will not have a happily ever after until we seek Him first. When we put God as the focus of our attention, instead of our spouse, then everything else seems to fall into place. Relationships are like the old Indiana Jones mysteries when the adventurer finds the missing key that unlocks the vault filled with jewels. God is the key to the happy marriage we search for. If you do not have the key, you will never enter the chamber filled with priceless treasures. True happiness and contentment begins with God. You will not have a happily ever after until you seek Him first. “But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.” (Matthew 6:33 ESV).
